How to Sell a Coffee Machine in Ireland: Model, Maintenance and Accessories

Prepare a capsule, filter or espresso machine listing with clear model details, honest maintenance notes, tested functions and included accessories.

Coffee machines range from simple capsule brewers to espresso setups with grinders and milk systems. A buyer needs to know which machine you have, what it includes and how it has been maintained. A polished exterior should not stand in for a useful condition description.

Identify the machine and consumables

Give the exact model and explain whether it uses capsules, ground coffee or whole beans. State the compatible capsule system only when verified. Similar-looking capsules or replacement parts are not necessarily interchangeable.

List the water tank, drip tray, portafilter, baskets, milk container and other accessories included. If a separate grinder appears in the photograph, explain whether it is part of the price. Missing small parts can make a significant difference to the buyer's costs.

Describe maintenance with evidence

Explain your cleaning or descaling history where you know it, and mention any service record. Do not claim a machine has been professionally serviced because you ran a cleaning cycle. If a warning light remains on, disclose it and avoid guessing at the repair needed.

Clean removable parts according to the manufacturer's instructions. Check for visible cracks, leaks, damaged cables and other obvious problems. If electrical safety is uncertain, do not demonstrate or offer it as ready to use. Check the exact product against CCPC safety notices where relevant.

Test the functions you advertise

Describe whether you checked brewing, hot water, grinding and milk functions, as applicable. Explain any unusual noise, slow operation or intermittent fault. “Powers on” is a narrower statement than “fully working”; choose the wording that matches your test.

Photograph the model label, complete machine and included accessories. Keep personal details from an original purchase receipt out of public images.

Prepare for collection

Allow the machine to cool and follow its instructions for emptying or transport. Discuss whether a demonstration is available before arranging collection. Keep all accessories together and verify payment independently before handing them over.

Compare your machine with the same model and condition, including maintenance needs. Once sold, update the ad. Create a kitchen appliance listing, or use the guide to responding to offers when enquiries arrive.
