Selling a Dishwasher in Ireland: Integrated Doors, Dimensions and Collection

Explain a dishwasher's model, installation type, dimensions, recent operation and included fittings, with a collection plan that accounts for safe disconnection.

A dishwasher can be difficult to assess once it has been removed from a kitchen. Prepare the description while you can identify the model and explain its recent operation. Buyers need to know whether it is freestanding or integrated, what is included and who will handle disconnection before collection.

Explain the installation type

Record the model from the appliance label and measure its actual height, width and depth. State whether it is freestanding, fully integrated or another design. A buyer cannot assume that a decorative kitchen door or fixing kit comes with every used integrated machine.

List any included furniture door, brackets, trays, baskets and manuals. If the appliance is still installed, make clear which surrounding cabinetry belongs to the kitchen and is not for sale. Do not promise compatibility with another buyer's cabinets from width alone.

Record condition before removal

Photograph the front, controls, interior, baskets and product label without exposing unrelated household information. Show broken basket wheels, damaged seals, rust, cracked components and wear. Explain known leaks or error messages instead of leaving them for a demonstration.

Describe the last ordinary use and what you actually observed. “Completed a wash on this date” is more informative than “tested” when you cannot explain the test. Do not start a questionable appliance to create a sale photograph; use appropriate professional guidance if a fault needs assessment.

Plan disconnection before agreeing collection

Establish who is responsible for disconnecting water, drainage and electricity, and arrange a competent person where required. Do not ask a buyer to improvise work on an unfamiliar installation under time pressure. Follow the appliance instructions for draining, handling and transport.

Check CCPC recall information using the exact model. Resolve applicable safety issues through the proper route before offering the unit as ready for normal use.

Describe the route out of the property

Explain steps, narrow doors and the available collection slot. Ask the buyer to bring suitable transport and enough help for the agreed plan. Keep doors and loose baskets protected as directed by the manufacturer; do not guess at an acceptable transport position.

Price with installation type, condition and missing fittings in mind. Make it clear whether removal has already been completed and whether inspection while connected is still possible.
