How to Sell Jigsaw Puzzles in Ireland: Piece Counts and Completeness Claims
Describe jigsaw puzzles with accurate titles and piece counts, transparent completeness checks and clear bundle details before arranging local collection.
A puzzle buyer often cares most about one question: are all the pieces there? The answer should reflect the check you actually made. An intact box or a labelled piece count does not establish that a previously used puzzle is complete.
Identify the exact puzzle
Give the manufacturer, title or image description and labelled piece count. Include finished dimensions from the box where available. Explain whether it is a standard jigsaw, shaped puzzle, wooden puzzle or another format that affects how it is used.
State the edition or product code if several versions look similar. Photograph the box front and any relevant information. Keep different puzzles' bags separate so that preparing a bundle does not accidentally mix the contents.
Describe your completeness check
If you recently completed the puzzle and photographed the finished result, say so. If you only counted pieces, describe that narrower check; some puzzles may have duplicate or extra pieces, and a number alone does not prove the correct set.
If you cannot verify completeness, label the puzzle accordingly. Do not use a stock image of a completed puzzle as evidence about the pieces in your box. Mention replacement or damaged pieces, bent tabs and staining you have observed.
Present bundles so they can be checked
List every puzzle title and piece count in a bundle. Explain whether the price is for the full group and whether splitting is possible. A photograph of ten boxes with a price applying to one puzzle is likely to create confusion unless the listing makes that explicit.
Separate box condition from piece condition. A worn lid may still hold a usable puzzle, while a neat box can conceal an incomplete set. State whether a reference poster or sorting accessories are included rather than letting the photograph imply it.
Pack for another evening of use
Bag pieces securely inside the correct box and avoid tapes or wrapping that damage the artwork. Protect corners if posting and quote delivery using the actual packed parcel. Keep puzzles dry while awaiting collection.
Compare like-for-like condition and completeness when setting a price. Confirm payment independently and remove the ad after sale. Create a puzzle listing, or read selling board games if you are clearing a full games cupboard.
