How to Sell Used Power Tools in Ireland: Bare Tools, Batteries and Kits
Create a power-tool ad with exact model and battery information, a clear accessory list and honest testing notes for buyers in Ireland.
A photograph of a drill beside a battery can leave an important question unanswered: is that battery included? A good power-tool listing defines the package before discussing price. Record model numbers for the tool, batteries and charger separately, then check that your description matches the photographs.
Distinguish the tool from the kit
State whether the offer is a bare tool, a tool with battery, or a full kit with charger and case. Give the voltage and battery capacity shown on the labels where applicable. Do not describe an aftermarket battery as original or assume that similar connectors establish compatibility.
List attachments, fences, guards, keys and other parts that belong with the model. If an accessory is missing, explain it. Buyers may need that part to operate the tool as intended, even if it appears small in the overall package.
Be clear about testing and repairs
Describe the operation you checked and the date or context of the last use. Mention intermittent switches, damaged cables, loose housings and known mechanical issues. Do not say “only needs a battery” if you have not established that a battery is the sole fault.
Avoid opening electrical equipment or bypassing protective features for a demonstration. Check the manufacturer and relevant CCPC product safety notices if the tool may be affected by a recall. Unsafe equipment should not be offered as ready to use.
Use photographs that show the package
Photograph the tool, labels and all included parts on a clear surface. Add close-ups of damage. Keep unrelated tools out of the main image so the asking price is not mistaken for the whole workbench.
Compare with the same model and package. Newer battery platforms, larger batteries and original chargers can make a simple headline price comparison misleading. A job lot should have an inventory and a clear statement about splitting it.
Agree collection sensibly
Arrange inspection in a suitable setting and only offer a safe demonstration you are competent to carry out. Follow appropriate transport guidance for batteries and sharp attachments. Check payment independently before releasing the equipment.
After collection, remove the listing or update the remaining items in a split lot. Post a power-tool ad and see how to handle offers for a clear negotiation process.
