Selling Used LEGO in Ireland: Sets, Minifigures or Mixed Bricks?
Decide how to list LEGO sets, minifigures and mixed bricks, with clear set numbers, completeness notes, photographs and realistic comparisons.
A named LEGO set and a box of mixed bricks appeal to different buyers. Before selling, choose the most accurate way to describe your collection. The aim is to let someone judge what they are buying without implying that every loose piece has been checked.
Start with the set number
If you have a specific set, find its number on the instructions or box. Include that number and the set name in the title. Similar-looking versions can have different pieces and figures, so avoid borrowing a description from a newer release.
Say whether you are including the box, printed instructions, spare pieces and minifigures. If the set is built, show the model from more than one angle. Photograph important figures separately and mention cracks, worn printing or replacement parts you know about.
Be precise about completeness
Only call a set complete if you have checked its contents with a suitable inventory. A model that looks finished may still have substitutions or missing accessories. Explain the method you used, or say that completeness has not been verified.
Do not claim that a sticker sheet is unused if stickers have already been applied. If other brands are mixed in, disclose that rather than presenting the whole bundle as genuine LEGO. Clear limits are more helpful than a vague promise of “everything included”.
Price mixed bricks differently
For a loose collection, weigh the actual bricks separately from the storage tub if you quote a weight. Describe whether the lot contains instructions, figures, wheels or specialist pieces. Photograph a spread of the contents rather than only the most attractive pieces on top.
Compare like with like: boxed sets, incomplete builds and mixed lots are not interchangeable price references. An optimistic asking price on another ad does not establish a completed sale value.
Pack for the agreed handover
If the model will be dismantled, say so before collection. Bag small pieces securely and label separate sets to avoid mixing them. Discuss packaging and postage before agreeing to ship a fragile assembled model.
Keep photographs of the contents as a reference for the transaction, then close the listing once sold. Create a LEGO ad or read about selling other used toys.
