A large ghost figure or haunted-house scene can look impressive in a dark photograph and still be difficult to assess. Buyers need to see how it stands, how much space it needs and which parts are included. Present the prop as an item someone can inspect and move, not just as an effect in an old party photo.

Define the scene piece

State the dimensions assembled and packed where practical. Explain whether it is a hanging decoration, freestanding display or another type of prop. List support frames, bases, fabric sections, controls and fixings that form part of the offer.

If several props appear together, identify which ones the price covers. A buyer should not need to negotiate after discovering that the main backdrop or stand was borrowed and is not included.

Photograph it in ordinary light

Show the complete prop, its supporting structure and close-ups of damage. Include tears, repairs, loose joints, failed movements and faded areas. A dramatic low-light photograph can be an additional image, but should not hide the condition buyers need to judge.

For powered or animated features, state what you checked and which supply or controller is included. Do not substitute uncertain adapters, open electrical parts or bypass controls just to make a demonstration work. Consult the product instructions and relevant CCPC safety notices if reuse is uncertain.

Describe intended use accurately

Do not call a homemade display weatherproof or child-safe without a basis for those claims. A decoration is not necessarily a toy. Keep manufacturer age guidance and warnings with the item and avoid presenting sharp, heavy or fragile scene pieces as costume accessories for young children.

This guide concerns ordinary permitted reusable decorations. Check platform rules before including specialist effects equipment or potentially hazardous accessories; do not assume they belong in an unrestricted household bundle.

Agree collection while it is assembled

Decide whether the buyer will inspect it before dismantling and explain how parts will be packed. Ask them to arrange suitable transport and lifting help. Avoid leaving fabric props outdoors in wet conditions while waiting for an unconfirmed appointment.

Compare similar size and condition when pricing, verify payment independently and remove the ad after collection. Create your prop listing, or see selling Halloween decorations for smaller matching pieces.
