How to Sell a Used TV in Ireland: Screen Checks, Stands and Collection
Prepare a television ad with the exact model, screen condition, included remote and stand, plus practical information about testing and safe collection.
Television buyers need to know whether the screen is in good condition, which connections are available and how the set can be transported. A large diagonal measurement alone does not answer those questions. Start by finding the exact model on the television's label.
Describe the actual model
Include the brand, model number and screen size. State the resolution if verified. Avoid labelling an older television with the features of the current model bearing a similar name. If a particular app is important, check its availability on the actual set rather than promising that every service works.
List the remote, power lead, feet or pedestal, and any mounting parts included. A wall-mounted TV photographed without a stand may need extra hardware for tabletop use; make that clear before the buyer travels.
Show the screen in use
Photograph the powered-on display in ordinary conditions, then show the frame and rear connections. Describe visible lines, uneven areas, marks or persistent images that you know about. Do not rely on a dark screen photograph to represent the display's condition.
Check sound and the inputs you can test. Say which functions remain untested, especially if you no longer have the equipment needed. Explain whether the remote operates normally and whether any buttons are missing or unreliable.
Remove accounts and saved information
Sign out of streaming accounts and follow the manufacturer's reset instructions. Check for saved Wi-Fi details, paired devices and any personal information entered on the set. Do not leave the buyer signed into your subscription to make the offer appear more valuable.
Keep a record of the model and advertised accessories so both parties can check the package. If a stand or original box is missing, reflect that in the description rather than revealing it at collection.
Plan transport before accepting an offer
Give the television's approximate overall dimensions, including the stand where fitted. Ask the buyer to arrange suitable transport and enough people for lifting. Follow the manufacturer's transport advice, and do not promise that an unboxed large screen can safely fit into any car.
Agree a demonstration and payment method, then confirm payment independently. List your television, or see the guide to selling a games console for related account-preparation advice.
